Bird House Gift Box

Hi crafters!

Today I made a gift box that everyone seems to love. I CASED a fellow Stampin Up demonstrator Merrilee Mager, after seeing her gorgeous bird box. I shared it on social media and am amazed at how many folk asked for directions, thank you all x
It has since come to my attention that another demonstrator was the originator of the design, so grateful thanks to Patricia Korella 😊
Anyway, the bird house is quite easy to make, once you get round my instructions. I'm much better at demonstrating that the written word, so theres a YouTube video at the bottom for you to watch me make the bird house

Basic measurements (more in video)
Thick card: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Card Colour1: 5 3/8" x 5 3/8"
Card Colour1: 11" x 5"
Card Colour2: 6" x 3" and 3" x 1"
Scraps whisper white and colour2

Ink.Stamp.Share. May blog hop

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to another Ink. Stamp. Share. blog hop. We are a group of Stampin Up! independent demonstrators from around the world who love to get together on a regular basis to share what we love ... crafting! It's always a pleasure to go visit with these fabulous folk and to get lots of inspiration from the things they've made. If you've just hopped in from Shirley I'm sure you're already brimming with ideas. I hope I can inspire you too.

This month our theme is Monochrome. Looking back over the last few weeks I realised I've been making a lot of cards that fit this criteria! As time has been short for me this month, this blog post revisits some of these cards.

First up, a couple of samples I made for a craft class last month featuring Beautiful You. I'm so pleased this fantastic stamp set is carrying over to the new catalogue. This was the set that made me join Stampin Up!
This first one was a Simple Stamping sample, just stamping Night of Navy onto white card. At the end of the class, I offered the ladies one of my samples each, this one disappeared first!
I love adding embellishments to cards. That's what I love about Stampin Up!, all their supplies match! This card used Basic Grey and Grey Granite Textured Weave ribbon.

Next, I was asked to make a card featuring a cake. Easy! This stamp set is retiring sadly, but will stay in my stash for future projects
I used Crumb Cake ink on white, adding my favourite Polkadot Tulle ribbon and some twine - both of which are carrying over ... yay!

Finally, it was my anniversary earlier this month. I do love clean simple cards
Although the card base is not SU, I've added this card to show how beautiful white and silver are (it wasnt our silver a anniversary I might add!). This card featured Falling Flowers and Meant to Be stamp sets. I'm sad to say goodbye to the flowers but glad the hearts are staying.

I hope I've given you some ideas for cards using just one colourway to create the monochrome look. Please do carry one round the hop. If you click on the Next button below, you'll hop over to Sandra's blog for more great ideas.

Thanks for stopping by
Karen xx

Ink&Share.Scrapbook.Farewell

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to another of my monthly Scrapbook blog hop posts. If you've just arrived from Shirley then I'm sure you're already feeling inspired. If you're starting here, then hello and I hope you enjoy your visit before hopping off to see what all the other Stampin Up! demonstrators have been up to.

It's not really a goodbye to scrapbooking, just to the current Stampin Up catalogue which ends this month. The new one has some great new products inside which I'm looking forward to using, but sometimes it's sad to say goodbye to old favourites, so this month I'm showcasing some of the paper I fell in love with over the last 12 months.

I was instantly attracted to the Best Route suite last year. I knew it would fit in perfectly for scrapbooking our travels.

This was a recent visit to Dorset in the UK. We love this area and as it was a glorious day, we opted for a coastal walk. Hadn't intended walking quite so far ... but it was a real achievement for me!

I used Best Route Memories & More cards; lots of punched circles (including ones punched from the retiring 1 1/4" circle punch); Dragonfly Dreams stamp set; Decorative Ribbon Border punch (which isn't retiring) and a small amount of Best Route DSP. I also did a small amount of printing on my laptop!

I hope I've given you some ideas for your future scrapbook pages.  I tend to forget my Memories & More cards, so wanted to concentrate on using those this time

Cute Embellishment Box

Hi crafters,

I dont know about you, but I'm terrible for buying cute little extras and then forgetting to use them. I do tend to hoard my favourites too, but wheres the point in that? They stay hidden. So with that in mind, plus having bought yet more pretty trinkets I decided to create a storage box so they would be close to hand and I'd remember to add them to my projects.

This little box is the perfect size and by using the bright paper, easily seen. I simply adore the Free As A Bird stamp set as well. The box is easy to make too ...

You will need -

Card:
12" x 10" (30.4 x 25.4cm)
Scored on the longer side @ 2¾" and 9¼" (7cm and 23.5cm)
white  6" x 3" approx (15.2  x 7.6cm)
base colour 6" x 3" approx (15.2 x 7.6cm)
scraps for stamping

DSP:
2 pieces - 6⅜" x 2⅝" (16.2 x 6.6cm)
1 piece - 6⅜" x 1⅜" ( 16.2 x 3.5cm)
2 pieces - 2⅝" x 2⅝" ( 6.6 x 6.6cm)

Please check out my YouTube video to see how I put it all together

Happy Crafting
