Ink & Share Scrapbook blog hop - February

Hi Crafters and welcome to another Ink & Share Scrapbook hop! We are a group of Stampin Up demonstrators from around the world who get together once a month to share our passion for scrapbooking. This month we are featuring new DSP (designer series paper), either from the main Annual Catalogue or the Spring/Summer one. I chose Classic Garage DSP from the S/S catalogue.

I always find that for me, the longest process in scrapbooking is choosing the photo(s) I want to use! This one of my lovely husband in 2007 seemed to fit the bill. We were on a road trip through Arizona and Utah with my parents and had stopped off in Park City, Utah. He had disappeared for about 10 minutes or so and when he came back he was on a Segway!  He had a lot of fun zipping around while we were there.

I found the images on the DSP fitted well with this photo. The maps represented our road trip, the tyre marks Steve's zooming round! I arranged the punched shapes to represent tyre tracks too.

As the DSP is 6" x 6", I wanted to fill the 12 x 12 layout more so after tearing the edges, I cut it in half and added the two halves just under either side of the photo. This made the DSP look a lot wider and filled the layout better.

I added some inked elements from the matching stamp set Geared Up Garage and finally some gears cut from the Garage Gears Thinlits dies.
The Park City letters came from Lined Alphabet

Now it's time to move on. Please click on the image below to hop over to Jenna, I know she'll give you some fab inspiration for your layouts

Hope you have a crafty kind of day

Ink. Stamp. Share. Feb blog hop. Sale-a-bration!

Hi Crafters! Welcome to this months Ink. Stamp. Share blog hop. We are a group of independent Stampin Up demonstrators from around the world coming together to share what we love. This month we are right in the middle of Sale-a-bration, a yearly three month period of freebies and new products.

I've chosen the Botanical Butterfly DSP (designer series paper) which came out in the first wave of SAB back in January. I love butterflies so this was a must - and I've managed to get three packs! So it'll last me beyond SAB which ends on 31st March.

I love making 3D projects, so this month I've made some cute little table favours/gift boxes. I took the colours from the dsp, so I have used Lemon/Lime Twist; Grapefruit Grove; Balmy Blue; Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight card to make the boxes.

I started with a piece of card measuring 8 1/4" x 7"
Score on the long side @ 2", 4", 6", 8"
Score on the short side @ 1/2", 2 1/2", 4 1/2", 6 1/2"

I then cut the DSP into 1 3/4" squares. you'll need 6 for each box.

Round the corners on the top and bottom flaps and your box is made! You can store it flat for later if you wish.

I punched a 1 3/8" scallop circle. Then stamped the butterflies using Butterfly Gala, using matching ink for each box and punched them out. I added some bling by using pearls for the butterfly bodies.

Simple boxes that I think look stunning 😄

Now you've seen what I used this month, please do go visit the others in this hop starting with Deb by clicking on the button below ...

Hope you have a craft filled day
