December has been a super busy month for me. Aside from the usual work and taking my dad for hospital appts, I've decluttered the downstairs of my house in preparation for Christmas. Throw in some friends and family birthdays cards to make and there hasn't been much time to get started on my Christmas crafting!
Today it was a 'get on with it' day, and thankfully I've made a small dent in the mountain of things left to do!
Today's blog is all about the super gift card boxes I made last week. It started with wanting something special for a friends 50th birthday. A group of us clubbed together to get our friend a Next gift card, but I think just an envelope is pretty boring so scoured YouTube to find something I liked.
I found an old 2013 tutorial by a demonstrator in America called Brenda Qunintana. Then noticed an updated version by Jan B, an English demonstrator. Between them, they inspired me to make the box above, which in turn led me to make the matching card for us all to sign.
I used the fabulous Broadway Birthday DSP as my starting point. My friends birthday party theme was black & gold, so the paper was perfect! I liked the way it all turned out.
Then I decided to recreate the presentation box in Christmas DSP as I have a gift card for my son. I love making these boxes and I think everyone will be getting gift cards so I can make some more!
You can watch the following YouTube video to see how I made the boxes
